The work I pursued on the Mono Lake to Death Valley trip was a continuation of the study of one material, nylon string, in a way that it would serve to inform my understanding of specific environments. Over 5000 feet of string was originally purchased for an earlier urban, architectural, installation. The way the string informed my understanding of that environment and with so much left over in material I was compelled to create the constraint for myself to continue to use this one material in a way that engages me to take a closer look at the environments I am working with in.
